WELCOME!!!

Aloha everyone,

     My name is Jason Lagpacan and I will be your 3rd-Grade Teacher at Pearl City Elementary School.  My classroom location will be room I16.  I am very excited to be working with you all and excited to do amazing things here at Pearl City Elementary School.

     Here are some fun facts about me.   I was recognized as  Curriculum Associates Extraordinary Educator Class of 2021 for the state of Hawaii. I graduated from the University of Hawaii West Oahu in the Spring of 2015 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.  Before I taught full-time I was a part-time teacher at Aiea Elementary.  This will be my 5th-year teaching in the HIDOE.  I have taught for 3 years at Waimalu Elementary School.  In my 1st-year I taught 6th-grade and in the following years, I have taught 3rd-grade.  This will be my second year teaching at PCEL, and I am blessed and grateful that Principal Dr. Hirokane has allowed me to teach at her school in the Pearl City Complex.  I teach all subject areas such as reading, writing, math, social studies, science, art, physical education, health, and social-emotional learning.  I live with my family: mom, dad, and sister in Waipahu.  I have four dogs. I love watching CSI Miami and Criminal Minds.  I also love to weightlift and cook. I am very excited for the school year to begin.  Let's make this year a fun and exciting year for all of us. We have endured a lot during the 2020-2021 School Year with CO-VID19, and I know that this school year will be better as long as we support and encourage each other and have clear communication as well. This year will allow us to grow and build a strong family relationship of trust and love.  We will exemplify the 5 Be's which are Be Productive, Be Prompt, Be Prepared, Be Positive, and Be Polite. We will exemplify HA: BREATH which is Sense of Belonging, Sense of Responsibility, Sense of Excellence, Sense of Aloha, Sense of Total Well Being, and Sense of Hawaii. And we will exemplify the 6 GLOS which are: Self-Director, Community Contributor, Complex Thinker, Quality Producer, Effective Communicator, and Ethical User of Technology.

     I will be using our school website, Google Classroom, ClassDojo, and my Classroom Google Site to communicate any announcements.  If you need to set a day and time to talk one-to-one on any questions or concerns you may have I am flexible in having those conversations with you. 

     If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me using the information below.  Please note that for the school contact I ask that you contact me during non-instructional times: M, T, W, & Th from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM, & 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM. Fridays from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM.
