PCES provides a safe and supportive environment for students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. PCES enables students to actively participate in a democratic system by communicating and collaborating among all stakeholders as members of the student council. Students are also provided a variety of learning opportunities that focus on critical thinking and analytical skills. PCES provides students with opportunities to utilize a range of technology in preparation for transition to an ever-changing global society. The school also inspires students to set and attain high expectations while maintaining strong moral character.

The school’s instructional program supports the academic, social, and physical development of all students. In addition, resource teachers provide an array of enrichment lessons in music, computer technology, Hawaiiana, physical education, guidance, and library media. PCES also offers various extracurricular activities such as: chorus (Na Leo Nahenahe O’ Pu’uloa), Student Council, Library Club, Campus Safety Officers (CSO), Positive Action Club (PAC), Math Team, Book Club, Fitness Club, basketball, and track. PCES believes it is important to provide a comprehensive education experience for students that address the whole child.
