Principal's Monthly Message

April 2024

Dear PCES Ohana,

April is an important time of year for schools as our 3rd-6th grade students will be participating in the Reading and Math SBA tests. These tests show how much students have learned over the year and how they are performing compared to others in the state. The SBA tests are important, but they are not the “end-all, be-all” for our students. Academic growth over the year with other assessments and social-emotional growth is just as essential for them. We hope all students will put their best effort into taking the tests and really show how much they have learned and improved over the past school year.

During Spring Break, the school’s driveway was supposed to be repaved as part of a project funded by the City and County’s Park and Recreation division. Unfortunately, the job was canceled at the last minute and I am still unaware of the reasons behind it. However, the driveway will be repaved at some point in the near future. Many other projects are in the midst of happening at our school, and hopefully when they are all completed, we can see how these improvements benefit our school community!

Let's have a great 4th quarter of the school year and remember to Choose Aloha and be kind to others everyday!

Sincerely,

James Suster

Principal
