PCES Academic Plan - SCC Assurances Form (Rev Feb 2022)

  • Some areas of the Academic plan needed to be edited to be more specific
  • Specifically math was updated to reflect that as a school we are working towards using a more cohesive math program
  • Social studies was taken out. Teachers will still cover social studies, but we won’t be doing any focused PD’s for social studies
  • NGSS and computer science were also updated to be more specific
  • Financial Academic plan approved by Lucricia and Katherine

Waiver Day Request:Requesting 3rd waiver day for complex academies

Academic/Financial Plan
PCEL Budget
•Projected enrollment: 432
•ff enrollment is not made by August 20th, extra money is returned
•Teacher lines/positions are already decided
•Casual hires, school needs (a/c maintenance, cleaning supplies, etc.,), tech supplies, curriculum program, are all budgeted items
•ESSER funds have also been used to pay for some curriculum programs
•This will help to ensure we have the money to pay all teachers and not need to cut positions
ACADEMIC PLAN
•Proficiency data has down from previous years due to covid
•Science scores were previously 41% passing, this year it has already progressed to 50% passing
•Where are we now?
•This area prioritizes school needs
•Math and reading: looking into comprehensive programs that can be used from K-6
•Consistency with GLOs
•Integrating subjects
•Mentoring new teachers or teachers that are new to our school
•Career exploration opportunities
•Data teams process
STUDENT SUCCESS
•Acquisition of skills and mindsets in line with graduate profile
•Students receive appropriate instruction and interventions aligned with ELA and Math

•Prepare for transitions between elementary, intermediate, and high school

•Strengthen pedagogical practices within ELA and math, and science, computer science, and HCS3 standards(social studies standards)

  • Developing academies - an ambassador program (student leaders)
  • Develop and sustain HMTSS based on school design, academic needs, social/emotional needs, physical well-being
  • PCES will have improved opportunities for the success of EL students
  • PCES will help improve overall daily attendance
  • PCES will have clear vision of programs of support to guide planning and operations
  • Committees has also been formed to help with events, SEL programs, and parent engagement
 

KEEPING US ON TRACK:

  •         March 2022 – Deadline for new SCC Waiver Requests with HSTA Checklists submitted to the Complex Area Superintendent is Friday, March 4, 2022. Plan/host a Community Meeting for parents and community members.
  •         April 2022 – Academic Plans and SCC Assurances due by April 15th. Nominate and elect /SCC members for vacant positions for SY22-23.
  •         May 2022 - Complete SCC principal survey and submit to CAS by June 3rd.
  •         June 2022 - Complete SCC Self-Assessment Survey by June 30th.

      • Air purifiers have been received in all classrooms with students
      • 6th grade changing from Go Math to Intro Math; ESSER funds will be used for Intro Math
      • Stem Scopes program (K-6) to be paid for with ESSER
      • Stepping Stones and Auto B Goode also to be paid for with ESSER
      • Summer school no longer to be funded by ESSER
      • Once remaining ESSER funds are given to schools, playground changes can start

      4-H could possibly partner with garden club

      Renee has connection with Mari’s garden; they’re asking if we want to start aquaponics again
