Aloha Pearl City Elementary Parents and Guardians,

As I begin my 3rd week at Pearl City Elementary School I have been able to observe and learn some of the routines and procedures around campus. I have been impressed with our teachers, students and families following these procedures during this unprecedented time. With that being said, I feel our dismissal procedures need to change as our students are missing too much class time on a daily basis. Beginning Monday, September 13, 2021 after school pick up will have the following changes:
  • Students will not be dismissed from class until the bell rings at 2:00pm (12:15pm on Fridays).
  • Parents will be allowed on campus to pick up students when the bell rings at 2:00pm (12:15pm on Fridays). Please do not come to the bus shelter area earlier than 1:50pm (12:05 pm on Fridays) as we do not want a crowd waiting at the top of the stairs. Parents must wear a mask at all times while on campus.
  • Grade K and 1 students will need to be picked up at their classroom by an older sibling or an adult. *Unless other arrangements have been made with the teacher.
  • If you plan to do a drive thru pick up please have your placard visible on the passenger side of the dashboard.
  • Parents are highly encouraged to park at Pacheco Park to alleviate the amount of traffic in the circle. Parking in the circle is not allowed.

Please speak to your child/children this week to discuss a meeting place for pick up and coordinate a plan if you have multiple students. I also encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher to inform them on how your child will be picked up so everyone is on the same page.

Thank you for your continued support of Pearl City Elementary School. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please feel free to contact me at (808) 307-5410.
